Beware of angry bingo players

Whenever you see a TV advert about online bingo, they always mention how there are “great chat rooms” and a “fun community”, but that should never be the primary reason for joining an online bingo site, as quite often those chat rooms can be quite intimidating, cliquey and sometimes scary places.

If the site in question is manned by CMs 24 hours a day, things are usually not as bad, as any problem players are quickly dealt with. However, if CMs are not around then a chat room can quickly be a target of trolls – people who deliberate look to cause problems for others online.

Trolls have been around since the internet began, as they are individuals who enjoy the anonymity that the internet gives them. In summary, they can create a false username and identity, and use that to do and say things they would never dream of doing in the real world.

I always make sure when I play online bingo that the software has functions such as ‘chat off’ or ‘ignore’ so that I can drown out the moans of angry bingo players either complaining about ‘same winners’ or being abusive because there are no CMs around and they can get away with it.

I also find sites that rate highly in the WhichCM.com awards are often the ones with the best CM teams, and therefore less likely to have any trouble in the rooms. So it is another good resource in which to choose a bingo site to play at.
